This is often a year when children grow in maturity. Children will be encouraged to take on more responsibility and become more independent. It is about promoting independence in preparation for bigger things to come.

Topics again move on in complexity. For instance, in Geography, pupils study Longitude and Latitude, Climate Zones, the Water Cycle and Trade Links.
