Welcome to Reception! For many parents, it is the first step of your child's learning journey at Blowers Green Primary.

We call this the Foundation Stage, because it is during this time that we begin to equip our pupils with the key skills that they will need for learning and for life.

We believe that every child deserves the best possible start in their education. We want your child to become an independent and self-motivated learner who will flourish throughout their whole school career. Working with you, we can make that a reality.

Like Nursery, Reception is a structured learning programme that develops pupil's thinking, literacy and numeracy, creativity, confidence and physical abilities. Each term is based on the following themes:

• Personal, Social and Emotional Development
• Communication and Language
• Literacy
• Mathematics
• Understanding the World
• Expressive Arts and Design
• Physical Development.
